Fencing is a fast-paced, strategic combat sport that involves dueling with swords while trying to score points by striking an opponent. Rooted in European swordsmanship, modern fencing evolved from historical dueling traditions and became an Olympic sport in 1896.
Types of Fencing Weapons:
1️⃣ Foil – A light thrusting weapon, points are scored by hitting the torso only.
2️⃣ Épée – A heavier thrusting weapon, the entire body is a target, rewarding precision and patience.
3️⃣ Sabre – A cutting and thrusting weapon, points can be scored with slashes and thrusts to the upper body.
